British values- age- respect

Sword Beach, France Normandy veteran Alan King, from the Norwich and District NVA, holds a photo of himself (front second left) and his comrades from B Company taken on VE Day 1945, as dozens of British veterans made a cross-Channel pilgrimage to Normandy to honour the legacy of comrades killed in the D-Day landings 71 years ago. • Who is this man?
  • Why does he wear medals?
  • Who do you think is in the photo he holds?
  • What happened on June  6th 1944?
  • Why does Alan King want this photo to be seen?
  • What do you think are his feelings about that time?
I also showed the children a photo of D-Day landings and then on a world map where the beaches were and where soldiers came from.
